Giving to the Jesus, His Church and its missions is a response to God's grace and mercy in the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ, and not something we do to earn God's favor. Your belief in Jesus as your only savior ensures you have that! Giving allows the Word of God to prosper and finances good works. Son Life's work in the name of Jesus Christ has certain operating expenses for both liturgical and non-liturgal needs and Son Life tithes our general offerings to outside missions and ministries for outreach. There are a number of convenient means that allow you to give to general accounts and to specific causes and campaigns, and these are listed below.

Offering Envelopes
These are provided to all members at the start of each year in a boxed set, dates pre-printed including midweek such as Lent and Advent. You can choose to direct your gift to various funds simply by marking the envelope accordingly. Currently active funds include Preliminary Development Reserve (PDR) for future church expansion, Organ Fund, and Youth.

Simply Giving®
The Simply Giving program is offered by Thrivent Financial and is designed to help Lutheran congregations benefit from the planned giving and ongoing stewardship of members. This allows Son Life to receive donations through electronic funds transfers. This service helps provide reliable, timely and more predictable revenue throughout the year.

CapitalOne credit card holders
Capital One developed the No Hassle Giving Site to provide Capital One credit card holders with a convenient way to donate to their favorite charities including Son Life Lutheran Church. Capital One has partnered with Network for Good and GuideStar to create this site. Network for Good processes donations and disburses funds to selected charities. GuideStar provides a comprehensive database of public charities in the U.S. that are registered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Capital One credit card holders who are enrolled in the No Hassle Rewards program may earn rewards points for their donations. CapitalOne credit card holders see 100% of their donation go to Son Life (or other charity)... CapitalOne absorb the transaction fee.

Flowers, Bulletin & Newsletter
You can sponsor the chancel flowers (two sponsors each service) or the weekly service bulletin (please use the sign-up sheets in the Fellowship Hall), or advertise in the monthly LifeLine newsletter (call Judy at 582-7093).

Tax Status
For tax purposes, donations to Son Life - considered tax exempt under IRC section 501(c)(3) - can usually be treated as a deductible charitable contribution (so long as no material goods or services are received in return, i.e. that goods and services consist only of intangible religious benefits). Son Life Lutheran Church is a registered Florida Non Profit Corporation. Consult your tax advisor.
